A Colombian court has ordered the arrest and imprisonment of Carlos Ramón González, the former director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency (Dapre), in connection with a corruption scandal involving the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD). The Tribunal Superior de Bogotá issued the capture order, charging González with peculation, bribery, and money laundering. González, who was considered one of the closest aides to President Gustavo Petro until early 2025, is currently not in Colombia, and authorities have been unable to confirm his whereabouts despite his virtual presence during court proceedings. The judge mandated that González be held in a prison facility under the supervision of the National Penitentiary and Prison Institute (INPEC). His lawyer has responded to inquiries regarding his location following the issuance of the arrest warrant.
