Authorities in St. George, Utah, responded to an active shooter incident near 3000 East Seegmiller Drive on Tuesday afternoon. A 41-year-old man barricaded himself inside a residence and fired more than 150 rounds at police officers. Law enforcement returned fire, and the suspect was eventually taken into custody and transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition. During the standoff, the home caught fire. Officials reported that the suspect admitted to using alcohol and cocaine. Residents in the area were instructed to shelter in place while the situation was ongoing.
