Rapper GloRilla, whose legal name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods, turned herself in to the Forsyth County Jail on 22 July and was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of more than one ounce of marijuana. She posted a $22,260 bond and was released the same day, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were initially dispatched to Woods’s home outside Atlanta around 1:30 a.m. on 20 July after reports that three intruders had broken in and fled following gunfire from an occupant. While investigating the burglary, officers said they detected the odor of narcotics, obtained a search warrant and found what they described as a “significant amount of marijuana” in a bedroom closet. Sheriff Ron Freeman said Woods was a victim of a serious crime but added that his department had to “uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.” No suspects have been arrested in connection with the break-in. Woods, who performed at the WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis two days before surrendering, has not publicly commented.
