A man was shot Monday evening in Washington, D.C.’s Logan Circle neighborhood, police said. Officers responding at 7:01 p.m. found the victim on the 1200 block of 12th Street NW unconscious but breathing and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and homicide detectives were called to the scene. The Metropolitan Police Department issued a lookout for a Black male with dreadlocks wearing all-black clothing. No arrests had been announced as of late Monday night, and investigators asked anyone with information to come forward. The attack follows a series of high-profile incidents that have renewed attention to public safety in the U.S. capital. Earlier in the day, ABC News anchor Kyra Phillips said on-air that two people had been shot near the network’s downtown bureau in the past six months and that she herself had been assaulted nearby, underscoring broader concerns about violent crime in central Washington.
