New York City police are searching for a gunman who opened fire near a neighborhood barbecue in East Harlem on Thursday night, injuring three adults and causing minor injuries to a toddler who fell while fleeing the gunfire. Investigators said shots rang out just before 9 p.m. outside 216 East 122nd Street. A 25-year-old woman was hit in the ankle, while men aged 33 and 36 were shot in the leg. All three were listed in stable condition at Metropolitan and Lincoln hospitals. A 3-year-old boy accompanying the female victim was treated for scrapes sustained during the commotion. Witnesses described the attacker as a man dressed in black who ran toward Second Avenue. Detectives were reviewing surveillance footage on Friday, and no arrests had been made. Police have not indicated a motive or whether the victims were targeted.
