A Greenville County judge has released former South Carolina teacher Nicole Ballew Callaham on a $120,000 cash bond while she awaits trial on three counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor. Callaham, 33, surrendered to Anderson County authorities last week and appeared in court on Tuesday. Investigators allege Callaham began a sexual relationship with a student in 2021, when he was 14, signing him out of school, transporting him to sports practices and supervising after-school activities. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office says search-warrant evidence and cooperation from the boy’s family support a prolonged pattern of abuse. Bond conditions bar Callaham from contacting the teenager or visiting locations he frequents. Her attorneys told the court she is eight to nine weeks pregnant. A preliminary hearing date has not been set; each charge carries a potential penalty of up to 30 years in prison.
