Optimism, an Ethereum layer-2 scaling solution, has successfully implemented fault proofs into its smart contracts, a significant step towards decentralization. This update allows users to initiate ETH and ERC-20 token withdrawals without relying on trusted third parties, thereby enhancing security and trust. The development team, OP Labs, announced that at least four other OP Stack networks, including Base, Metal, Mode, and Zora, will implement fault proofs soon. This move aligns with Ethereum's rollup-centric roadmap and has been praised by the community for advancing the decentralization of layer-2 solutions. Following this update, Optimism has achieved Stage 1 status in both State Validation and Proposer Failure sections.

Congratulations to @Optimism on achieving Stage 1 Decentralization 👏 We look forward to seeing the next batch of rollups follow suite. https://t.co/50OPPIm2DR https://t.co/CpOEQPKkO6
