The dispute centers on a video interview posted this month on YouTube by journalist Andrew Callaghan in which Biden claimed Epstein introduced Melania Knauss to Donald Trump and said their connections were “so wide and deep.” Brito wrote that Biden relied on unsupported assertions by author Michael Wolff that had already prompted The Daily Beast to retract an article and apologize after receiving a separate legal warning from the first lady’s lawyers. Biden has not publicly responded, and a source cited by Fox News said he missed the Aug. 7 deadline. If the former first son does not comply, Melania Trump’s counsel says she will pursue “any and all legal and equitable remedies,” including a court action to recover damages exceeding $1 billion.
