House Declassification Task Force Chairwoman Rep. Anna Paulina Luna has announced plans to request the Department of Justice (DOJ) to release files related to Jeffrey Epstein that do not involve child pornography. Luna emphasized that there is substantial information unrelated to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or victims that DOJ leadership can authorize for public disclosure. She criticized the DOJ for previously withholding these documents under the pretext of ongoing investigations and classified status. Luna has also called for the appointment of a special counsel to investigate the DOJ's role in concealing Epstein-related files. Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton reported that the DOJ and FBI are still in possession of Epstein files and have additional documents yet to be released. The call for transparency has garnered support from other lawmakers advocating for the immediate release of the Epstein files.
