Tesla extended its lead in Europe’s fast-growing electric-vehicle market, topping June registrations in several countries with its Model Y and Model 3 sedans. In Ireland, the U.S. carmaker captured 43.5% of new battery-electric registrations, giving it the largest share of any brand and placing the Model 3 and Model Y in the first and second spots, respectively. Tesla also outpaced rivals in Italy, securing 21.4% of June EV sales—more than three times that of the nearest competitor—on 902 Model Y and 793 Model 3 deliveries. In Switzerland, the company held 17.3% of the segment as 689 Model Y units made the crossover the nation’s top-selling vehicle for the month. Further east, the Model Y became Türkiye’s overall best-selling car in June with 7,235 units, marking the first time an electric model has led the country’s monthly rankings. The regional surge comes as electric adoption accelerates globally: Norway reported that 97% of new-car sales are now electric, while China’s share has climbed to 48%, underscoring how falling battery costs and wider model availability are reshaping the auto industry.
