President Donald Trump is weighing a full presidential pardon for music executive Sean “Diddy” Combs, according to a 30 July report by Deadline citing an administration source. The deliberations have intensified since Combs was convicted on 2 July of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, while being acquitted of more serious sex-trafficking and racketeering charges. Combs, 55, has been held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since his arrest in September 2024 and faces a potential prison term of up to 20 years at his sentencing on 3 October before U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian. His lawyers this week renewed a motion for release on a $50 million bond, arguing the conduct should not warrant incarceration. Trump publicly said in May that he would “look at the facts” of Combs’ case and intervene if he believed the artist had been mistreated. A pardon would add to a series of high-profile clemency actions in 2025, including the president’s pardons of reality-television personalities Todd and Julie Chrisley.
