A 32-year-old man was found dead in Pré du Moulin park in Pont-de-Metz, near Amiens in the Somme department of France. The victim had been brutally murdered, with his throat slit and his body disemboweled, reportedly positioned in the shape of a cross. The scene was described as horrific by Loïc Bulant, the mayor of Pont-de-Metz. An investigation was promptly launched following the discovery. On August 5, a 27-year-old suspect was arrested in the Amiens area and placed in custody on charges of assassination. The suspect has admitted to the killing but denies knowing the victim.
