LFP Media, the commercial arm of France’s Professional Football League, opened subscriptions to its in-house streaming channel Ligue 1+ on 11 August, four days before the 2025-26 season begins with Olympique de Marseille hosting Stade Rennais on 15 August. The platform will carry eight of the league’s nine weekly matches live; the remaining fixture remains with beIN Sports and will be shown on Ligue 1+ at midnight. Director General Nicolas de Tavernost told RTL on 13 August that sign-ups had enjoyed “a very important and encouraging start”, describing the first two days as a “success”. The service is the league’s response to last season’s rights turmoil and mounting piracy, which industry estimates say costs hundreds of millions of euros a year. Ligue 1+ is marketed directly online and through major French telecom operators, with an introductory price of €9.99 a month for three months before rising to €14.99 under a 12-month contract. A €19.99 no-commitment pass, a €14.99 mobile-only plan, and a €9.99 under-26 offer broaden the range. Amazon Prime Video is reselling the channel at €12.99 a month until 31 August, while DAZN offers the same introductory rate ahead of a €14.99 contracted price. LFP Media is targeting one million subscribers by the end of the first year and 2.2–2.5 million within four years. Revenue will flow directly to clubs, giving them a rare stake in distribution and potentially reducing reliance on third-party broadcasters.
