The 23-year-old goalkeeper signed a five-year contract that runs through June 2030. The fee makes Chevalier the most expensive French goalkeeper in history. A product of Lille’s academy, he was voted Ligue 1’s best goalkeeper last season after helping the northern club qualify for the Champions League. “I am a kid who is realizing his dream,” the player said after the deal was announced.
