Two separate crashes involving light aircraft in France have resulted in a total of six fatalities in 2025. On June 27, a private light aircraft crashed in the residential area of Champhol, Eure-et-Loir, near Chartres, killing all three occupants, including a former army general and two passengers. The crash prompted an investigation for involuntary manslaughter. The pilot was reported to be experienced. On July 9, another light aircraft crashed near the airport of Chambéry in the Savoie region, also resulting in three deaths—two women and one man. The crash occurred during landing and took place close to residential homes in the French Alps. Both incidents involved small tourism planes and have drawn attention from local authorities and media.
