Trade details, per sources: To #NHLBruins: Viktor Arvidsson To #Oilers: 2027 5th Round Pick No salary retained on Arvidsson.
The Boston Bruins have reached an agreement to acquire forward Viktor Arvidsson from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft, according to multiple reports. Arvidsson waived his no-trade clause to facilitate the move, which still requires final approval from the league’s trade call. Edmonton will shed Arvidsson’s entire US$4 million cap hit, with no salary retained, giving the club additional flexibility after its recent run to the Stanley Cup Final. The 32-year-old winger recorded 27 points over 67 regular-season games last year and added seven points in the playoffs. The deal continues an offseason reshuffle for the Oilers, who have already moved out forward Evander Kane and signed defenceman Evan Bouchard to a four-year, US$42 million contract. For Boston, which missed the playoffs last season, Arvidsson is expected to bolster a middle-six forward group that struggled to generate offense after a mid-season sell-off.
