Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders gathered at Swabhiman Sthal in northwest Delhi on Sunday to mark the 18th death anniversary of former Chief Minister Dr. Sahib Singh Verma, who was killed in a road accident in 2007. The memorial service was led by his son, Delhi Public Works Department Minister Parvesh Verma, who performed a havan and thanked supporters for their continued remembrance of his father. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, Ministers Kapil Mishra and Parvesh Verma, and MPs Manoj Tiwari, Yogender Chandoliya and Bansuri Swaraj offered floral tributes and addressed party workers. Speakers recalled Verma’s “simplicity” and the administrative groundwork he laid for the capital, saying thousands of workers had benefited from his mentorship. Party leaders said the current state government continues to build on policies initiated during Verma’s 1996–98 tenure as chief minister.
