India's Defence Acquisition Council has approved a ₹30,000 crore order for 87 indigenous Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) drones, with Adani Defence and Tata Advanced Systems positioned as key contenders to supply the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In a related development, Adani Defence & Aerospace, in partnership with Prime Aero Services LLP, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% ownership of Indamer Technics Private Limited, a leading private-sector Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) company based in Nagpur. This acquisition will be executed through Horizon Aero Solutions, a 50-50 joint venture between Adani Defence and Prime Aero, marking a strategic expansion of Adani Defence’s presence in India’s aviation and defense sectors. Additionally, India is accelerating deliveries of US-made F404 engines for its Tejas Mk-1A fighter jets and is nearing finalization of a follow-on order, while also engaging in talks to procure F414 engines for future fighter aircraft.
