India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is scheduled to visit Moscow on August 20-21 to hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The discussions will take place on August 21 and will cover key issues on the bilateral agenda as well as cooperation within international frameworks. During his visit, Jaishankar is also expected to call on Russian President Vladimir Putin. This diplomatic engagement follows a recent visit to Russia by India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and is part of preparations for an upcoming visit by President Putin to India. The visit coincides with heightened tensions due to US tariffs on Russian oil imports. Additionally, on August 18, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is expected to visit New Delhi for talks with NSA Ajit Doval under the Special Representatives mechanism. The Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed Jaishankar's participation in the 26th session of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation during his Moscow visit. Separately, South Korea's Foreign Minister Cho Hyun will visit India from August 15-17 and meet with Jaishankar.
