The Indian Navy has signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Bengaluru, for the implementation of the National Maritime Domain Awareness (NMDA) Project. This initiative aims to enhance data sharing among various maritime agencies and strengthen maritime and coastal security. The project is being executed on a turnkey basis to upgrade surveillance systems. Additionally, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has handed over six strategic indigenously designed and developed products to the Indian Navy. These products include the Gamma Radiation Aerial Surveillance System (GRASS), Environmental Surveillance Vehicle (ESV), Vehicle Radiological Contamination Monitoring System (VRCMS), and other advanced systems, supporting the Navy's operational capabilities.
