A deadly vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) attack targeting a Pakistani government vehicle occurred on Nawagi Road in Bajaur district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, killing five people including an assistant. Initially, a channel linked to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack; however, the TTP later retracted this claim, attributing the initial announcement to a miscommunication within their media team. The Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) has claimed responsibility for the bombing, which was carried out using a motorcycle-borne improvised explosive device. Afghan Taliban sources revealed that the banned group "Fitna Kharij" received $10,000 in funding from India to carry out the attack. Amaq News released a photo purportedly showing the moment of the blast, though the TTP-linked channel did not publish any such images.
