A landslide caused by heavy rainfall near Munkatiya, close to Sonprayag in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand, has disrupted the Kedarnath pilgrimage route. The debris and falling rocks led to the temporary suspension of the yatra from Sonprayag to Kedarnath Dham as the route became completely blocked. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) successfully rescued around 40 pilgrims stranded in the affected zone while they were returning from the shrine. Rescue operations are ongoing, and the damaged route remains impassable at this time.
