Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar will hold bilateral talks on 21 August, according to statements carried by Russian and Indian officials. Indian media report that Lavrov is expected in New Delhi for the meeting, while the Russian Foreign Ministry has confirmed the date without specifying the venue. India’s foreign ministry says Jaishankar will travel to Russia next week as part of preparations for the talks. The Lavrov-Jaishankar meeting comes amid a flurry of diplomatic activity in Asia. Earlier, China announced that Foreign Minister Wang Yi will chair the tenth Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Anning, Yunnan, on 14-15 August, drawing counterparts from across the region.
