Wesley So finished second with 20 points, while Gukesh placed third. The tournament highlighted the rising prominence of Indian chess players, with 12 Indians ranked in the world top 100, including Aryan Chopra at number 96. The competition featured intense clashes among top grandmasters, with Carlsen overtaking Gukesh in the final stages to claim the championship with a round to spare.
