Security forces in Manipur conducted extensive joint operations involving the Manipur Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Assam Rifles, and the Indian Army in June and July 2025, targeting illegal arms and militant activities across multiple districts. On the night of June 13-14, a major crackdown in the outskirts of five valley districts resulted in the seizure of 328 firearms, including 151 SLR rifles, 65 INSAS rifles, 73 other rifles, 5 carbine guns, and 2 MP-5 guns, along with 9,300 rounds of ammunition, 591 magazines, explosives, and other warlike stores. The operations were based on specific intelligence inputs and aimed at curbing illegal arms circulation and maintaining peace in the region. Following this, between July 3 and 4, 2025, security forces intensified their efforts in the hill districts of Manipur, including Tengnoupal, Kangpokpi, Chandel, Churachandpur, Bishnupur, and others, recovering over 200 weapons, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), grenades, and additional ammunition. These raids were also intelligence-driven and involved coordinated search operations by the same security agencies. Concurrently, three militants belonging to different proscribed outfits were arrested in Imphal Valley districts during this period, with further seizures of arms and ammunition. These operations reflect ongoing efforts by security forces to dismantle militant networks and disrupt illegal arms trafficking in Manipur. Separately, in Jammu and Kashmir, a joint anti-terror operation by Poonch police's Special Operations Group and Indian Army's Romeo Force in the Surankote area led to the busting of a terror hideout, where grenades, ammunition, wire cutters, batteries, knives, power cables, and other incriminating materials were recovered.
