Motorola has introduced the Moto G96 5G in India, adding a new mid-range option to its portfolio ahead of the crucial festive sales period. The handset is priced at Rs 17,999 for the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB model and Rs 19,999 for the 8 GB + 256 GB configuration, with open sales scheduled to begin on 16 July through Flipkart, Motorola’s online store and major brick-and-mortar retailers. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, the Moto G96 5G features a 6.67-inch curved pOLED screen that supports a 144 Hz refresh rate and peaks at 1,600 nits of brightness. The device carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance—still uncommon below the Rs 20,000 threshold—and houses a 5,500 mAh battery capable of 33 W wired charging, with the adapter included in the box. Imaging hardware is led by a 50 MP Sony LYT700C sensor with optical image stabilization, complemented by an 8 MP ultrawide module, while a 32 MP front camera records 4K video. Motorola ships the phone with Android 15 wrapped in its Hello UI skin and promises one major OS update plus three years of security patches. Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Gorilla Glass 5 protection and a vegan-leather back finish round out the key specifications.
