India’s National Investigation Agency arrested Abdul Rehman, described by the agency as a key participant in the 2022 killing of Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha activist Praveen Nettaru. Rehman, who had been on the run for two years, was taken into custody at Kannur International Airport in Kerala after arriving from Qatar. Investigators allege that Rehman is linked to the banned Popular Front of India and played a central role in the targeted stabbing of Nettaru in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district. The NIA said the arrest marks a major advance in its effort to identify and prosecute those behind the politically charged attack.
