India’s National Investigation Agency said it arrested three people on Tuesday in connection with the 2023 Lashkar-e-Taiba prison-radicalisation case. Those detained include a government-employed prison psychiatrist and a City Armed Reserve police constable. The arrests followed coordinated searches in two districts of the southern state of Karnataka, the agency added. Investigators allege the suspects helped the Pakistan-based militant group indoctrinate inmates while they were in custody. The latest action is part of a broader probe that has targeted LeT’s attempts to expand its recruitment network inside Indian prisons. The NIA said further questioning of the three accused is under way.
