Thousands of Shia Muslims marched through Srinagar between 4 and 6 July to mark the final days of Muharram, with the main Zuljanah procession on Youm-e-Ashoora moving from Botakadal’s Ali Pora to Zadibal under tight security and municipal arrangements. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha joined the mourners on 6 July, distributing water bottles and other supplies along the route and on Dal Lake, where some participants travelled in decorated shikaras. Officials said the event concluded peacefully, with crowd-management measures in place across the city.
