Stonethrowing broke out during a Muharram procession in Katihar, Bihar, on Sunday when a group allegedly targeted the Mahavir temple in Naya Tola, damaging the shrine and nearby houses. Police resorted to a lathi-charge to restore order; five officers sustained injuries. Authorities have registered a case against 16 individuals on charges including rioting and obstruction of public servants, and said the situation is now under control.
