TRUMP ON DISCUSSION WITH UK STARMER: WE DIDN'T DISCUSS DROPPING TARIFFS ON SCOTCH WHISKEY
U.S. President Donald Trump said his meeting with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer did not address the possibility of lifting U.S. tariffs on Scotch whisky. Trump told reporters that the two leaders “made a good deal,” without providing details, but stressed that the spirits levy was not part of their discussions. Trump also reiterated his view that India should face tariffs of about 20% to 25% on its exports to the United States, suggesting his administration will maintain a hard line on trade with New Delhi even as it works to finalise arrangements with London.
