The death of Prajurit Dua (Prada) Lucky Chepril Saputra Namo, aged 23, in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) has prompted a comprehensive investigation by the Indonesian military and police authorities. Lucky's death is suspected to have resulted from repeated abuse by senior members of the Indonesian Army (TNI AD). The Military Police of Kodam IX/Udayana have named 20 TNI personnel as suspects, including four initially identified soldiers and one platoon commander who is the direct superior of Lucky. All suspects are currently detained at Subdenpom IX/1-1 Ende, NTT. Brigjen TNI Wahyu Yudhayana, Head of the Army Information Service, confirmed the involvement of a TNI officer and emphasized that the case will be used for a thorough evaluation of all operational units within the TNI AD. The investigation is being conducted transparently, with varying charges applied depending on each suspect's role. The case has drawn public attention to the issue of dangerous seniority practices within the Indonesian Army. In response, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Budi Gunawan, expressed condolences and assured that the case will be handled fairly and transparently. Lucky's mother, Sepriana Paulina Mirpey, has publicly called for justice, even kneeling before the Pangdam Udayana commander to plead for accountability. Additionally, it was revealed that another soldier was also a victim of violence in the same battalion, Batalyon Teritorial Pembangunan 834 Waka Nga Mere Nagekeo. The House of Representatives Commission I member, retired Major General TB Hasanuddin, urged the Military Police to thoroughly uncover the motives behind the abuse. The ongoing investigation has not ruled out the possibility of additional suspects being identified.
