Massimiliano Fedriga retained his position as Italy’s most appreciated regional president in Sole 24 Ore’s 2025 Governance Poll, securing a 66.5 per cent approval rating among voters in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. He was followed by fellow League politician Luca Zaia in Veneto at 66 per cent, while Piedmont’s Alberto Cirio climbed onto the podium with 59 per cent. Among mayors, the survey crowned Marco Fioravanti of Ascoli Piceno—elected last year for a second term with a right-wing coalition—with a 70 per cent approval score. Parma’s Michele Guerra ranked second at 65 per cent, and a tie for third place went to Gaetano Manfredi in Naples and Vito Leccese in Bari, both on 61 per cent. The annual ranking, compiled for the business daily by polling firm Noto Sondaggi, gauges citizens’ willingness to re-elect their current administrators. Interviews were carried out in the first 20 days of June with samples of 1,000 voters per region and 600 per provincial capital city. Regions and municipalities that held elections in 2025 were excluded from the poll.
