Authorities in Kilifi County, Kenya, are investigating a suspected cult uncovered in Binzaro village, which may be linked to the Shakahola cult responsible for over 400 deaths. Police have recovered a body and two human skulls, and rescued four emaciated individuals from the area located near Shakahola Forest. Eleven people have been arrested as the search and rescue mission continues. Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have discovered multiple shallow graves in Binzaro, raising concerns about a possible second wave of cult-related deaths. The Kilifi County investigation has intensified with the court in Malindi approving the exhumation of bodies from the graves. Government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor is set to lead the exhumation process. Authorities fear that several bodies, including children—eight of whom are feared dead—are buried in these graves. The probe is ongoing, with homicide detectives and DCI officers maintaining tight security ahead of the exhumations. Two witnesses have also testified in the Shakahola forest massacre case, which remains under judicial scrutiny.
