These groups criticized the project for allegedly glamorizing grooming crimes and called for its cancellation. Following the backlash, the drama production was officially halted, and the original webtoon, which was published from 2015 to 2020, was removed from major webtoon platforms. This decision was made to address public concerns regarding the ethical implications of the storyline. Separately, the popular Korean webtoon "Wind Breaker" by Yongseok Jo was canceled due to confirmed plagiarism allegations.
