Las Vegas Collision Injures Pedestrian, Closes Downtown Streets

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating an auto-pedestrian collision that occurred at about 10:20 p.m. Friday at the intersection of 1st Street and Ogden Avenue, near the Circa Resort & Casino in downtown Las Vegas. Police said a single vehicle struck a pedestrian, who was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver stayed at the scene while the LVMPD Traffic Bureau began its inquiry. Several downtown streets were closed overnight as investigators collected evidence. Ogden Avenue is shut between Main Street and Casino Center Boulevard, and 1st Street is closed from Fremont Street to Stewart Avenue. Authorities advised motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes while the investigation continues.
