A pedestrian attempting to run across the northbound 110 Freeway at Exposition Boulevard in South Los Angeles was struck by at least two vehicles, including a red Dodge Ram pickup, and pronounced dead at the scene, the California Highway Patrol said. The collision occurred around 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, prompting CHP to issue a SigAlert and shut all northbound lanes. By mid-morning only two lanes had reopened, with congestion stretching several miles to Slauson Boulevard. The driver of the Dodge Ram remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, while authorities have not provided an estimate for when the freeway will fully reopen.
