The Israel Defense Forces said its fighter jets carried out a new round of airstrikes in Nabatieh in southern Lebanon on Thursday, targeting what it described as Hezbollah weapons storage facilities, military structures and other infrastructure. Lebanese state media reported that the strikes hit areas between Yahmar Al-Shuqayf and Deir Seryan and the outskirts of Zoutar al-Sharqiyah. Hezbollah has not commented on the attacks, and there were no immediate casualty figures. Last week, Israeli aircraft struck an underground Hezbollah command center near Qalaat Shaqif, also in southern Lebanon, that the IDF said was used to manage the group’s fire-control and air-defense systems. The two operations underscore Israel’s continued air campaign against the Iran-backed militant group despite an officially declared truce. Lebanese authorities accuse Israel of nearly 3,000 violations of the November 2024 ceasefire, reporting at least 225 people killed and more than 500 injured. Under the agreement, Israel was expected to withdraw from southern Lebanon by late February, but its forces still occupy five border outposts, adding to tensions along the frontier.
