Irma Hernández Cruz, a 62-year-old retired teacher and taxi driver from Álamo Temapache, Veracruz, was kidnapped on July 18, 2025, by a criminal group. During her captivity, she was forced to record a video demanding that fellow taxi drivers pay extortion fees to the criminal organization. After several days of disappearance, Hernández was found dead.
