Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has strongly criticized the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) following a recent ruling that ordered the removal of a citation of Lorenzo Córdova, former head of the National Electoral Institute (INE), from school textbooks. The court granted an amparo to Córdova to eliminate references to his comments, which were considered racist. Sheinbaum condemned the SCJN's decision, accusing the outgoing court of promoting racism, liberating criminals, and usurping legislative functions. She emphasized that neither racism nor classism should exist in Mexico and indicated she would review the matter with the Legal Counsel. In addition to this case, Sheinbaum has also criticized opposition figures, accusing them of hypocrisy and questioning their moral authority to criticize the current administration, the Fourth Transformation (4T). She specifically mentioned alleged fraud involving the PAN Senate coordinator and called out opposition leaders Ricardo Anaya, Jorge Romero, and Alejandro Moreno for their critiques.
