At least 30 Mexican nationals are currently detained at the Alligator Alcatraz migrant detention center in Florida, according to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. The Mexican consulate in Miami, led by Consul Rutilio Escandón, is providing support and assistance to the detainees. Among those previously held at the facility were two Mexican brothers, Carlos and Alejandro, who have since been released and returned to Mexico following consular intervention and a support network. Separately, Paola Clouatre, a Mexican woman detained in northern Louisiana for nearly two months, was released after pressure from a Republican senator. Meanwhile, the Trump administration's intensified immigration enforcement has caused concern among undocumented communities, coinciding with the withdrawal of 1,350 National Guard members from a city. Since the start of President Donald Trump's administration, nearly 76,000 Mexican nationals have been repatriated from the United States. The Mexican government has provided over 436,000 services to returnees through the "México te Abraza" program to assist their reintegration into Mexican society.
