Air India Express said it has rerouted or cancelled its limited services to Qatar after authorities closed the Gulf state’s airspace amid escalating tensions in West Asia. A Doha-bound flight that departed Kochi was diverted to Muscat, while another that had left Kannur for the Qatari capital returned to its origin, the airline said on Monday. The low-cost carrier, owned by the Tata Group, added that it currently has no other services scheduled for Qatar and that none of its aircraft are on the ground there. Cochin International Airport, which handles a significant volume of Gulf traffic, reported broader flight disruptions as airlines assess alternative routings around the closed airspace.
