Turkish Airlines has suspended passenger flights to several Middle East destinations amid conflicting information about the scope of the move. Notices appearing on the carrier’s website late 13 July indicated that services to Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon are cancelled until 31 July. Separate alerts reported by regional broadcasters said only some routes to Iran, Iraq and Jordan were halted, while adding that flights to Syria and Lebanon were also removed from schedules. No explanation for the suspension has been provided, and Turkish authorities have yet to issue an official statement.
