Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization has reopened the country’s airspace and restored regular domestic, international and over-flight services after a 20-day shutdown sparked by last month’s conflict with Israel. Operations resumed at Tehran’s Mehrabad and Imam Khomeini airports, as well as at facilities in the north, east, west and south of the country, following what regulators called multi-agency safety and security reviews. For now, scheduled commercial flights are permitted between 05:00 and 18:00 local time, while transit corridors in the eastern airspace are available around the clock. Airports in Isfahan and Tabriz remain closed pending infrastructure checks, but civil-aviation officials said nationwide capacity would gradually return to pre-war levels as technical inspections are completed. The first foreign service since the easing of restrictions—Flydubai flight FZ1930 from the United Arab Emirates—landed at Imam Khomeini International Airport early Friday, marking the resumption of regular international connections. Additional carriers are expected to restart routes in the coming days once bilateral clearances are secured. Iran shut its skies on 13 June, after Israeli airstrikes on military and nuclear targets triggered a 12-day confrontation that ended in a cease-fire. The reopening signals an easing of regional tensions and removes a costly detour for airlines that had been rerouting traffic outside Iranian airspace during the closure.
