Previously unseen video released by Iranian and international media shows two Israeli missiles slamming into a busy intersection in Tehran’s Tajrish neighborhood on 15 June, sending vehicles into the air and destroying a nearby building during the 12-day war that ended late last month. The Telegraph reported that the strike killed 17 civilians, and weapons analysts identified the munitions as Rampage air-launched ballistic missiles. The images have emerged as Iranian authorities sharply revised upward the human cost of the conflict. Saeed Ohadi, head of Iran’s Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation, said on 7 July that 1,060 people have been buried so far and the death toll is likely to rise to about 1,100. He added that the fatalities include 126 women and 41 children. The short but intense war began on 13 June when Israel targeted Iranian nuclear, military and energy facilities. Iran responded with waves of missile strikes before a cease-fire took effect on 24 June. The new casualty figures exceed earlier estimates of fewer than 1,000 deaths, underscoring the scale of civilian losses documented in the newly released footage.
