An Iranian ballistic missile strike on a residential area in Be'er Sheva, Israel, on June 24, 2025, resulted in the deaths of four civilians: Corporal Eitan Zacks, 18; Noa Boguslavsky, 18, a 12th grader; Michal Zacks, 50; and Naomi Shaanan, 73. The attack coincided with ongoing hostilities in Gaza, where Israeli forces continue combat operations against Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described recent days as very difficult, mourning the deaths of seven soldiers in Gaza on June 24 and additional casualties in subsequent weeks. Among the fallen soldiers were Sergeant Yair Eliyahou, 19, a combat engineer killed in northern Gaza on July 4; Sergeant Asaf Zamir, 19, who died in southern Gaza; and Captain Reei Biran, 21, a Golani Brigade reconnaissance unit commander killed in combat in southern Gaza on July 11. On July 14, three armored corps soldiers—Staff Sergeant Shoham Menahem, 21; Sergeant Shlomo Yakir Shrem, 20; and Sergeant Yuliy Faktor, 19—were killed during combat operations in northern Gaza. Netanyahu expressed condolences to the families and emphasized national mourning. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have publicly released the names and images of the fallen soldiers, and the government continues to support ongoing military efforts in Gaza.
The Efrat Regional Council said it is grieving the loss of Sgt. Shlomo Yakir Shrem, 20, who was killed alongside St.-Sgt. Shoham Menahem, 21, and Sgt. Yuliy Faktor, 19, during a brigade mission in Jabalya in northern Gaza. https://t.co/5T6apvii7q
