The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted airstrikes targeting multiple Houthi positions in Yemen, focusing on key ports and infrastructure used for Iranian weapons smuggling. The strikes hit the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and Salif, as well as the Ras Kanatib power plant. Among the targets was the Galaxy Leader, a roll-on/roll-off vehicle carrier vessel hijacked by the Houthis in November 2023 and equipped with a radar system for maritime surveillance and operational planning. The IDF released footage of the airstrike on the Galaxy Leader, highlighting its role in Houthi operations in the Red Sea corridor amid ongoing tensions linked to the Israel-Hamas conflict. These attacks were carried out in response to repeated Houthi missile attacks on Israel, with the Houthis retaliating by launching missiles at Israeli territory. The strikes involved approximately 60 munitions and aimed to disrupt the Houthis' capacity to transfer Iranian weapons and conduct attacks against Israel.
