Israeli officials are exploring various strategies to halt missile attacks launched by the Houthi movement from Yemen. According to Haaretz, these options include potential agreements with Hamas or Iran that might explicitly or implicitly establish a ceasefire involving Yemen. Concurrently, Israeli military sources have reported ongoing operations targeting Houthi infrastructure, particularly at the port of Hodeidah. These operations have involved the use of drones to strike heavy machinery, fuel tanks, and transport vehicles, aiming to prevent the reconstruction of damaged facilities and to disrupt arms smuggling from Iran. The use of drones reduces risks to Israeli pilots given the long flight distance to Yemen. Israeli officials acknowledge that completely stopping the rocket fire may not be feasible with current resources, and intelligence limitations and geographic distance hinder the application of tactics used against Hezbollah. Nonetheless, Israel is preparing a list of future targets in Yemen and has demonstrated its capability to conduct impactful strikes, including within Iran.
