On August 29, 2025, Israeli military forces conducted multiple airstrikes in southern Lebanon's Nabatieh region, targeting areas including the towns of Sayr, Sir al-Gharbiya, and Kfarkela. An Israeli drone launched two missiles at the outskirts of Sayr and another strike hit a vehicle in Sir al-Gharbiya, resulting in the death of a Lebanese civilian. Additionally, a third Israeli drone strike targeted Kfarkela with a bomb. The Israeli military reported that it attacked an engineering vehicle near Naqoura, southern Lebanon, which was allegedly involved in reconstructing Hezbollah's military infrastructure. During this operation, a technical malfunction caused unexploded ordnance to fall, reportedly injuring several Lebanese army personnel. Israeli media also reported the death of a Hezbollah member in Nabatieh who had been previously injured in a pager device attack a year earlier. These strikes represent further violations of the fragile ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon. The Israeli army is currently awaiting the results of an assassination attempt related to these incidents.
