President Donald Trump will chair a large meeting at the White House on Wednesday to craft a U.S. plan for humanitarian assistance and post-war governance in Gaza, U.S. special envoy Steven Witkoff said in a Fox News interview. The session is expected to gather senior officials to discuss the “day after” framework, the release of hostages and conditions that would bar Hamas from any future role in Gaza’s administration. Witkoff added that Washington aims to resolve the Hamas issue before the end of the year while advancing broader regional diplomacy. He said the administration is working to add new countries to the Abraham Accords, will meet Ukrainian officials in New York later this week, and remains in regular contact with Russia and Iran as part of separate negotiations.
Witkoff tells @BretBaier “We talk to the Russians every day. I think that we may end up seeing a bilateral meeting. My own opinion is that the president is going to be needed at the table to finish a deal.”
Witkoff tells @BretBaier he will be meeting with Ukrainian officials “this week” in New York.
